5 Week preseason training block for AFL.
This 5 week training block has been put together to provide a football team with all the resources they need to implement their conditioning sessions.
Running sessions provided and total session volumes to use a guide to make sure your players are getting the required amount of work in.
Key focus areas:
- Gradually build volume.
- Build intensity.
- Slowly reintroduce specific movements (i.e.kicking, accelerations, max effort sprint, changes of direction (COD).
- Introduce basic key movement patterns and targeted exercises for ‘at risk’ areas.
- Build a base through higher rep/lower weight exercises.
- Decrease volume and increase intensity (weight) over time.
- Build jump & land load
