This resource has been developed as a guide for individuals completing rehabilitation following an ACL reconstruction. The outline provides a clear map for individuals to gradually progress through stages and milestones during their rehabilitation journey.
An ACL reconstruction is a major surgery, typically resulting in moderate to high levels of pain for days post-op. Initially, we need to respect the healing time, andallow the site to recover acutely.
There are 4 main goals to work towards in this phase:
-Settle down the swelling
-Get the knee straight
-Focus on quad activation
-Retraining basic gait mechanics
